Since our foundation in Rome in 1980, evolution has been our constant companion on the journey that led us to become NIECO S.p.A. Behind every change, there was a belief in our ability to expand our team and scope of operations.

This is the year when our company became a COOU dealer, now CONOU, and obtained authorization for the treatment of used mineral oils.

2004 is the year when we arrived in Tuscany, acquiring the C.R.O.M.E.T. plant, now NIECO Arezzo, which marked the beginning of a period characterized by continuous growth at multiple levels.

In 2014, we took further significant steps forward and doubled our turnover by embracing the lead-acid battery business and acquiring a 70% stake in Buona Ecologia S.r.l. in Perugia.

With the acquisition of Controlfim S.r.l. in Rome, we have embraced new waste categories, expanded storage areas, and achieved diversification of the CER codes.

After 16 years and three management transitions led by chief executive officers, the leadership of Nieco S.p.A. has passed to the new generation of the Cafiero family, with Francesca Cafiero assuming the role of President and Camilla Cafiero as Vice President. They are propelling our company towards new horizons.

In 2022, we completely revamped our organizational structure, adopting a group vision focused primarily on the impact that the company can generate in its market, both socially, culturally, and in terms of business.

The renovation has involved the consolidation of our expertise, the revision of processes and procedures, the enhancement of certifications, and the prioritization of human values. This approach has enabled us to start crafting a narrative that speaks about the environment, driven by a vision that has shifted from ego-systemic to eco-systemic.

OUR/NIECO GROUP

We are an active part of a larger system that requires us to achieve objectives such as reducing, and eventually eliminating, CO2 emissions, achieving the end of waste, producing clean and sustainable energy, and promoting responsible consumption and production. In order to accomplish this goal, we have expanded our horizons and embarked on building a solid yet flexible reality, Nieco We Care. Through our 4 business units - Waste Solutions, Waste Management, Waste Storage, and Waste Consulting - we are able to meet the needs of stakeholders and keep pace with the rapid changes happening in the world.
